The BINUS Fashion Design Scholarship Program 2026, presented under BRIGHT (BINUS Rising Innovators Grant for Holistic Talent), is now open for aspiring young fashion designers. The competition offers high school students and recent graduates an opportunity to showcase their creativity while competing for a full scholarship to pursue Fashion Design at BINUS University.

The competition is open to Grade 12 high school students or equivalent graduates. Participants are challenged to create one complete women’s fashion look incorporating Baduy woven fabric under a free theme. Designs may be created digitally, although the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is prohibited, and submissions must be submitted in PDF format.

Following the initial submission, 10 finalists will be selected to develop their designs into physical garments using Baduy woven fabric provided by the BINUS Fashion Design Program. This stage allows finalists to transform their creative concepts into finished garments while demonstrating their design and execution skills.

The competition aims to encourage young designers to explore Indonesian textile heritage through contemporary fashion. By incorporating Baduy woven fabric into their designs, participants are given the opportunity to reinterpret traditional textile materials while developing their own creative identities as emerging designers.

The registration period runs from 13 July to 15 August 2026, followed by the announcement of the 10 finalists on 19 August 2026. Finalists must submit their completed garments by 30 September 2026, with the winners announced on 5 October 2026. The completed works will then be showcased in an exhibition from 5–9 October 2026.

The competition offers substantial scholarship awards for the top three winners. The first-place winner will receive a scholarship worth Rp52,000,000, while the second-place winner will receive Rp39,000,000, and the third-place winner will receive Rp26,000,000. These scholarships provide an opportunity for talented young designers to pursue their education in Fashion Design at BINUS University.

In addition to the scholarship opportunity, the competition provides aspiring designers with a platform to develop their portfolios, gain experience translating concepts into garments, and explore the possibilities of Indonesian textiles through contemporary fashion.

Through BRIGHT, BINUS Fashion Design seeks to support talented young creatives while encouraging the next generation of designers to combine cultural heritage, creativity, and innovation. The competition is not only an opportunity to win a scholarship, but also a chance for aspiring fashion designers to take their first step toward pursuing their passion professionally.
